Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale plays American professional player playing for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. The basketball team she played for was the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to her being picked by the Wings as the 5th overall pick of the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale is a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. She has two brothers Mario (26 and 26 years young) and Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). She was among the youngest siblings, she was also the most lavishly treated by her parents. The father of her Gregory was a soldier in the Nigerian Army for quite some duration. Ogunbowale comes from a family who has connections to the sports world. Her brother Dare is a player in the NFL as is her mom Yolanda used to play softball at DePaul. Her cousin Endia Olive also plays volleyball in Tennessee State. Ogunbowale's name appeared in the honor roll at her high school for 3 years in a row. In addition to her fame, she's received numerous honors during her time at school. Arike was a graduate of Divine Savior Holy Angels High School that is in her home town. Ogunbowale competed at her first 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship and won Gold medals there. In July of 2014 she was picked to join the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale has also been selected to be part of the ACC All-Freshman Team for her debut collegiate season. Though she's still only a freshman, Ogunbowale has established herself as an exceptional basketball player, and she is bound to keep her track.
