Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox is a Scottish born singer. Her birth date was 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name used by her parents. Lennox was a flute, piano as well as harpsichord at Royal Academy of Music London for three years in the 1970s. Lennox was paid a stipend and did part-time jobs in order to make ends meet. Lennox wasn't happy with the quality of her performance compared with other students at the Royal Academy and began looking to find alternative routes. Lennox played flute in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. However she left when the band was featured to I.T.V.s talent competition New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980 she was main vocalist of The Tourists, a British pop group. This is where she first came across Dave Stewart with whom she would form Pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox began work with Diva in 1992. It was her first solo album. The album had a tremendous success both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennoxs Sixth Solo Album debuted in October of 2014. This C.D. is a selection of Lennoxs favorite soul jazz and blues songs from her childhood. Lepidoptera was recorded by Lennox on the 19th of May 2019. It is a collection comprised of four songs composed by Lennox. The E.P. is a companion piece of her artwork in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled Now I Let You Go...
